This starting hole looks deceivingly simple. With out-of- bounds
on the left and trees lining the right side, a long iron or fairway
wood is the smart play to this fairway which slopes from left to
right. The 1st is an early hint to reading many of the greens on the
front nine. It appears to slope mainly from back to front when it
actually breaks more from side to side.
